Although American Motors Corporation (AMC) was only in operation from 1954 to 1988, their cars loom large over the landscape of American automotive history. The AMC Rambler convertible top, a model which AMC purchased from Nash Motors in 1954, became one of America's iconic vehicles: the classic 1960s family station wagon.
